As part of their study on Community Helpers, the first graders took a walking trip to First Citizen’s Bank this week. Children were excited to sit at the boardroom table in the large, swivel chairs. (Did you smile when you got that picture in your mind?) First graders heard about some of the business conducted at a bank, including saving and borrowing. Next students were encouraged to draw pictures of something valuable and then shown how those valuables can be safely locked away. Of course, no trip to the bank is complete without a lollipop or two, so our sweet children came home with goody bags. We LOVE having Charleston as our campus!
