Welcome to Charleston Day School! We appreciate your interest and consideration of Charleston Day for your child’s education. Families in the Charleston area are fortunate to have many strong educational choices, and we look forward to working with you as you explore your options.

Our admission process is designed to educate prospective families about the unique advantages of the Charleston Day School experience and to assist you in making the best decision for your child’s education. Acceptance decisions are based on an evaluation of several factors: performance on standardized testing, recommendations from current kindergarten or classroom teachers, as well as a transcript and academic record for applicants grades two through eight. We strive to maintain an even balance of boys and girls in each class. A goal of the Admission Committee is that each child experience success in our challenging environment and have the ability to take full advantage of the academic and extracurricular opportunities offered at Charleston Day.
