Application Procedures

First Grade

  1. Application: To be considered for first round of admissions, submit application prior to testing date
  2. Tour: Call the Admission Office 843-722-7791 x 112 to schedule a parent tour (September-January)
  3. Parent Visitation Day: Wednesday, January 20th from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. Come sit in on first grade classes to see our teachers and students in action. This provides an excellent opportunity to envision your child in first grade at Charleston Day School.
  4. Student Visitation Day: Wednesday, January 20th or Thursday January, 21st from 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. This is an informal visit for the prospective students to visit the school and familiarize themselves with the campus before coming for assessment. We encourage all students to attend!
  5. Testing: Testing dates are Saturday, January 23rd at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. and Saturday, February 6th at 10:30 a.m. Individual Assessments for First Grade applicants will be on February 6th at 8:30 a.m. If your child is testing elsewhere, please call to schedule the individual assessment. Please call 722-7791 x 112 to register for testing.

second through eighth grade

  1. Application: Submit the $75.00 fee and a photograph with your application
  2. Tour: Call the Admission Office to schedule a tour, an individual testing session, and a classroom visitation date.
  3. Transcript and Teacher Recommendation Forms: Charleston Day School provides these forms to be completed by the applicant's current school and teachers and returned to the Admission Office.
  4. Testing: Testing day for grades 2-8th is Saturday, February 5th at 8:30 am.
  5. Applications are due in February for consideration in our first round of admissions decisions.  Notifications are mailed March 4th.  Applications received and completed after the deadline will be considered on a rolling basis beginning in mid-March.
