High School Counseling
Determining the right secondary school to follow Charleston Day School is an important task that requires a great deal of thought and energy. There are a number of considerations that will enable you to determine what is best for your child and it is important to discuss them openly together. First and foremost, do you anticipate that your child will stay in Charleston? If so, will he or she want to continue at a private school, or will public school be an option? Secondly, is your child interested in boarding school?
Once these larger questions have been answered, there are many considerations in determining the best academic environment for the next four years. Do you want a small school or a large one? Do you want a single-sex environment or a coeducational one? Do you want a rural setting, an urban setting, or something in between? Do you want a school with a religious affiliation? Will you need financial aid? With all these questions, it's important that a school offer all the support and assistance possible to families undergoing this process. To that end, Charleston Day School offers a comprehensive High School Counseling Program designed to walk its families through each step of this process. We provide a High School Counseling web page that includes contact information for many different schools, both local and nationwide, calendars detailing important admissions dates, and helpful advice that is updated annually to ensure that you receive only timely and accurate information.
