MRS. CLARE'S LUNCH MENU FOR NEXT WEEK
The hot lunches for next week will be: macaroni and cheese, fried chicken, spaghetti with meat sauce and chicken noodle soup with baked potatoes or grilled cheese sandwiches.
PARENT ACCESS TO AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM
A keypad has been installed by the double doors from the parking lot into the Student Academic Center. The code for the double doors is 1937# and it will only work from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday, so that parents can access the after school program. All visitors throughout the school day should enter through the gate under the Charleston Day School arch.
FIELD DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Field Day will be on Friday, April 20th from 9:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at the James Island County Park Stono shelter. Parents' Councilputs on this amazing event for every year. Thank you Parents' Council!
About 35 volunteers are needed to help with a variety of tasks. This is the most fun a parent will ever have volunteering. Volunteer doctors and nurses are welcome at the First Aid Station. Email Marni Kerrison: email@example.com to let her know you'd like to volunteer. Go Blue! Go Red!

READ ACROSS AMERICA
This week we had another reported case of head lice. As a precautionary measure, all were and checked by Lice Busters on Wednesday. Please continue to check your children and please let us know if you have a case so that we can be well informed and pro active in trying to stay a"head" of the situation!
COME JOIN WILLIS ROGERS' TEAM
Fifth grader Willis Rogers was diagnosed with Type I Diabetes this summer. In order to support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), Willis has found "Willis' Walking Warriors" to participate in the JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes on Sunday, March 11, at Smythe Park on Daniel Island. Willis has set an aggressive goal of $5000 for Willis' Walking Warriors. MARCH 28th VARIETY SHOW INFORMATION
CARE TO DARE TO SHARE
CDS students have been challenged to show they Care to Dare to Share by bringing in children's chewable vitamins, toothbrushes, toothpaste for C, and school supplies for S which Captain Kimbo and Mrs. R will take on a mission's trip to the children of Trinidad, Honduras. The children are meeting the Dare challenge in Ethics as they dare to develop games and art projects that Mrs. R can use with the Honduran children. With each step of the challenge, the children pick out a rock symbolic of a tale from Honduras, The Good Garden. Tomorrow (Friday) is the last day to bring in supplies.

The lost and found bin is overflowing! Please come to the gym and look for any lost clothing.

Interested in being Green? After all, St. Patrick's Day is right around the corner! Oh, you mean Green as in saving our planet! If you're interested in Green iniatives, please join the Parents' Council for a meeting to discuss a Green Initiative at CDS, Monday, March 12 at 8:30 a.m. at CDS. Go Green!
If you are doing a little Spring cleaning or you have a book or two you've read and don't know what to do with the Library would love donations of books for our ongoing "Book Exchange". Send them in anytime with your child or just drop them off at Mrs. Westbrook's desk.
UNIFORM DONATIONS AND SALE
Please send in any gently used uniforms that have sadly been outgrown to the attention of the Parents' Council. Our next uniform sale will be on Thursday, April 19th, at 8:30 a.m. during our next Parents' Council Meeting.
Basketball Season for grades 5-8 has come to an end. All 5th-8th grade basketball players should wash and return basketball uniforms in a bag clearly marked with the player's name. Any uniforms not returned by Friday, March 2 will be presumed lost, and the cost to replace them will be billed to the family's account. Players in grades 3-4 are still playing and will have until the end of March to return their uniforms.!
Practice: Saturday, 12:30-2:00 p.m. Additional practices are: March 3, 10, 31, April 7, 14, 21, 28, May 5. This information is also on the Tennis webpage.
Match schedules will come out in early March, the week before matches begin.
The golf season will begin in March for any 6th-8th grade boys and girls. Please contact Mr. Willits with any questions. See the golf webpage for the schedule.
GIRLS ON THE RUN FOR 3rd-8th GRADERS
Girls on the Run is a curriculum based program that uses the power of running to help prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Through interactive activities such as running, playing games, and discussing important issues, participants learn how to celebrate being girls. The program focuses on building self-esteem and improving emotional and physical health. During the program, girls are empowered with a greater self-awareness, a sense of achievement and a foundation in team building to help them become strong, contented and self-confident young women. Classes will be held at Colonial Lake on Tuesdays from 3:30-4:45pm. Dates are March 6, 13, 27, and April 3, 10. The program will be led by Gigi Wallace.
