Investing Your Time

The People. When asked to describe Charleston Day School, everyone — whether a student, a teacher, a parent or an alum — answered by describing the relationships formed here. Join in and experience our community life. Many opportunities exist far beyond your years of being a student or parent at the school.

Volunteer Opportunities

parent volunteer opportunities

Whether you are working parents, stay at home parents, or a mix of the two, there are many ways to get involved! Volunteering your time is a great way to get to know the school and our community. We are always needing help in several areas: classroom volunteers, faculty appreciation, enrollment office, advancement office and Parents’ Council events.

Alumni volunteer Opportunities:

4th Grade Invention Convention Judge

Fourth graders identify a problem and invent their own solutions. Judges interview students and evaluate their work.

6th Grade Science Fair Judge

Sixth graders make a hypothesis, test it with an experiment and analyze the findings. Judges interview students and evaluate their work.

4th Grade Alumni Postcard Project

Fourth graders research a state and then write personal letters to an alum who lives there. Alumni are requested to send a state postcard back to the school.

Halloween Costume Contest Judges

Students and teachers show their creativity at Halloween. We need impartial judges to walk around campus and pick their favorites. Contact the Parents’ Council Carnival Chair.
