Congratulations to CDS art teacher and award-winning artist Kate Hooray Osmond! She is the winner of the 2021 Piccolo...
Julia recently returned to Charleston and is excited to join us as our first ever school nurse. Most recently, she taught nursing at Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Walden University, an Associate Degree in Nursing from Trident Technical College and a BA in Journalism and Public Relations from the University of Georgia. Julia is passionate about health and wellness and looks forward to supporting our school community through her capacity as the school nurse.
I have been a nurse since 2009. I held multiple positions at Roper Hospital as a staff nurse, case manager and ultimately the Clinical Manager of Oncology. When I relocated temporarily to North Carolina, I taught second level nursing students in the classroom and clinical setting.
Critical thinking and triage! Every patient and situation is unique, and I am always learning! No boredom in nursing 🙂
It feels like a dream honestly! I am so honored to have a role in building the school nurse program, which is so vital to the health and well-being of the students.
I am beyond thrilled to be working in the school where I have my most fond childhood memories. I can vividly remember math with Mrs. Finch, history essay tests for Mrs. Cleveland, running basketball drills in the gym with Coach Meyers and “senior lunch” off campus on Fridays. My best friends to this day are my classmates from CDS! I will also never forget the trip to France in Middle School!
Yes! Liza will be a rising 3rd grader and Pickett will be in Kindergarten.
Blue!
