All students have an opportunity and an obligation to live up to the CDS mission. By doing so, our students contribute to our community on a daily basis. By showing up, putting forth their best effort, being kind, and recognizing that everyone makes a difference, we create a strong foundation.
The feeling of energy and community is palpable from the moment you enter the building. From the handshake with our Head of School during morning carpool to the relationships that are formed in and out of the classroom, each student is known and valued.

Our community extends beyond the 8th grade. We have many young alumni who return to campus and volunteer as assistant basketball coaches or make presentations about their high school experiences.
Several current parents attended Charleston Day when they were in elementary and middle school. These legacy families continue the CDS tradition when their children attend the School.
