Summer Math & Reading Activities

We hope students have a great summer exploring lots of activities and enjoying times with family and friends! To help reinforce and maintain skills students learned during the school year, we assign a mix of summer work for all CDS students. This reinforcement helps solidify the foundational knowledge necessary for future learning.

In addition, the summer work provides a preview of the upcoming year’s curriculum, helping students feel more prepared and confident when they return to school. Overall, the goal is to strike a balance between rest, play, and learning, ensuring that students return to school refreshed yet ready to tackle new academic challenges.

Charleston Day School Summer Camp

If you would like to join us for the first few weeks in June, CDS faculty members provide several camp options from arts and crafts to science experiments, allowing children to explore new interests and hobbies they might not encounter in their regular school curriculum. There are morning sessions from 9 am to noon and afternoon sessions from 1 pm to 4 pm each day. In addition, lunch hour supervision is available between morning and afternoon sessions for an additional fee. Camps are open to rising kindergarten to 4th grade CDS students and their siblings.
