why did you decide to become a teacher?

My mom is a teacher and have always wanted to be like her. I have been teaching my stuffed animals since I was able to read and write. As I got older I used to always go to her school and do her bulletin boards for her. I love to be creative.

what is your favorite lesson to teach?

I love teaching all things math, especially long division. It is so fun to see all the concepts we have been practicing (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) all in one problem. It is like a puzzle!!!

how would you describe Charleston day school to someone new?

Charleston Day is a warm, friendly, family like community. You can walk through the doors and feel a huge since of community where everyone loves being here. We all support each other, teachers, parents and students.

what is your favorite cds tradition?

Greeting Mr. O’Shea each morning with a handshake and a warm hello. It gives each child a sense of belonging and teaches them the importance of hand shaking and eye contact.

what were you like as a child?

I loved school, helping everyone out, playing outside and talking to anyone who would listen. My mom tells me I never got a good grade in school for talking and staying on task!!
