What do you do in your spare time?

 

I love to go to the movies. I sew a little; I bake when the mood strikes, and recently I have been spending way too much time working on jigsaw puzzles.

What is your favorite children’s book and why?

 

My favorite books when I was in upper elementary were My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George and Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scott O’Dell. I loved the survival aspect. I still recommend those books to students today!

How many books do you read in a month?

 

It varies, but I read at least 3 new books (kid lit), so that I always have fresh titles in my classroom library.

What is your favorite CDS tradition?

 

My favorite CDS tradition is Monday assembly. I love having a weekly time for the entire school body to get together and share events that involve the youngest and the oldest. It also is a time where I can see former students and learn about their current successes.
