Congratulations to CDS art teacher and award-winning artist Kate Hooray Osmond! She is the winner of the 2021 Piccolo...
Spirit runs high during Field Day, when our 8th graders lead their team through a series of games on the lawn at James Island County Park. Winners earn points for their team, either Red or Blue. All CDS students are assigned a team when they enroll, and team loyalty runs strong. If a student has a sibling, a parent or a grandparent who attended CDS, they’ll all be on the same team. The winning Field Day Team will be announced during a Monday Assembly, and the winning team for the year will be announced during Commencement. More than the competition, the day provides a chance for younger and older students to spend time having fun together, as you can see from the photos below. You can feel the friendship and spirit that permeates the day in this video: 8th Grade Dancing. Go Scorpions!
