2019 Middle School Model UN Conference

Part of the Model UN Conference is the Festival of Nations. Students dress up in traditional clothing from the nation they are representing. Some nations also share food and drinks.

In April, several 7th and 8th graders participated in the International Middle School Model UN Conference in Black Mountain, NC. They acted as ambassadors for two countries, Somalia and Afghanistan, tackling important issues. Students prepared for this trip all semester in the Debate Elective Class, one of the offerings for our middle school students.

Both groups did well presenting and defending their resolutions, and some of the students were chosen as special delegates to the final Assembly. Congratulations!
