Off to a Great Start in Art!

September 17

A bedroom with light and shadows inspired by Lemony Snicket’s book “The Dark.”

The walls around Charleston Day School are beginning to brighten with children’s artwork and creativity! In grades K-5, art teacher Mrs. Kate Osmond has been working with the students on journeys and transitions inspired by children’s literature as well as self-portraiture. It’s hard not to smile when you see these faces in the halls!

In middle school, art is off to a great start! Art teacher Mrs. Nicole Seitz has worked with students in grades 6-8 to explore the power of LINE by hand and digitally.
Other elements of art and principles of design explored include patterns, repetition, form, symmetry and harmony. Well done!
